Shannon Denson Takes the Helm as CEO/President of Jacksonville Black Chamber of Commerce

JACKSONVILLE, FL – May 5, 2023 – The Jacksonville Black Chamber of Commerce (JBCC) proudly welcomes Shannon Denson as its new CEO/President. With a Bachelor's degree in Leadership and Development from Jacksonville University's Davis School of Business and a Masters degree in Human Resources from Webster University, Denson brings extensive knowledge and experience to the role. Her passion for social justice and the entrepreneurial community will guide her efforts to empower small black businesses and communities through economic and community development. 


The JBCC's mission is to become the voice of black-owned businesses and communities by providing economic and community development, government relations, education and workforce advancement initiatives, and tourism growth. Denson's leadership will redefine the community by promoting socioeconomic growth and social equity for underserved businesses in smaller economies that will leave legacies. With a nonpartisan approach to working with community leaders, she aims to bring all partners together to create a more robust economic environment by promoting diversity, inclusion, and synergy between communities, small black businesses, local and regional businesses, and the government.

Members have a stronger voice with elected leaders to create and improve social and economic conditions for small black businesses and communities. "

The JBCC provides business solutions that establish long-term financial security, as well as resources, and support, concentrated on generational prosperity, economic and wellness initiatives to create diverse opportunities, credibility, and social equilibrium. The chamber also provides members access to capital investment opportunities through its Capital Funding initiative.


JBCC's Workforce Development projects are designed to help businesses find the right talent that is critical to the success of their business. At the same time, the Business Wellness initiative takes a holistic approach to creating a business culture that synergizes the elements of business owners and their communities. The Legislative Education initiative aims to educate members and the community on the best interests of black businesses and the community.
